How You Use Electricity |

|
The first step in using electricity wisely is understanding which appliances have the biggest impact on your bill. Pictured
are average monthly electricity usage rates (in kilowatt-hours*) of common appliances in your home.
Figures are based on a 1,500 square foot home. Homes differ in usage according to size, climate, construction, insulation
and family living habits. The water heating figure is based on a family of 3.
*A kilowatt-hour (kwh) is 1,000 watts of power used for one hour. One kwh will run a 100 watt light bulb for 10 hours.
