Energy Exchange is a voluntary load curtailment program. It offers larger customers (> 1 mw load size) financial incentives to reduce their energy use during periods of high wholesale power prices or for periods of high regional energy need.

When wholesale power supplies become tight, opportunity is created for our Energy Exchange customers. Under the program, you will receive monetary rewards for reducing power usage demand during such times.

Through Energy Exchange, you can evaluate the market and decide if the time if right to curtail. You also will help keep power flowing to other customers in the region and stabilize power purchase costs for the region's utilities, which in turn, helps us keep prices low.

Energy Exchange works like this:

• Customers enroll in the program with their account manager's assistance.
• Once enrolled, they are given access to the Energy Exchange Web site.
• We will post a price (Market Price Signal) on the Energy Exchange site for each hour that we need energy reduction.
• Customers can evaluate the posted hourly prices and decide if it's advantageous to pledge an energy reduction.
• If a response with a pledge is received, we will send a confirming e-mail to notify the customers that we have accepted the pledge.
• The customer will perform on the event day as indicated in the pledge.
• We will use meter data and your baseline usage figure to calculate the actual reduction and issue payment with 45 days.

There is no cost or obligation to enroll. You control whether to curtail any portion of your energy usage at any time.
