Get credit for using energy wisely
Our Irrigation Load Control program offers financial incentives to irrigators who agree to curtail their electricity use during certain periods.

To participate in the program, irrigators choose which sites to enroll in the program and the load control option that will best meet their needs. Rocky Mountain Power installs an electronic timer at participating sites. From June 1 through September 15, the timer interrupts power to the pump according to the pre-determined curtailment schedule. The most popular option is a six-hour block two days per week – Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Participating customers are awarded a participation credit on their October statement. We are currently offering $11.19 per kilowatt per year. For an average 60 kilowatt (80 horsepower) irrigation pump, customers can earn about $671.40 for their participation from June through mid-September.
