A new Idaho wind farm known as Wolverine Creek is providing electricity to about 17,500 Rocky Mountain Power residential customers.
The project is located about 10 miles southeast of Idaho Falls.

Last May, Rocky Mountain Power announced its 20-year agreement to purchase the full output of the 64.5-megawatt wind-powered
electric generating project, adding more renewable energy to its energy resource mix. Construction began in July 2005, by
Wolverine Creek Energy LLC, who will also operate the facility upon its completion.
The wind farm consists of 43 General Electric wind turbine generators, 1.5 megawatts each. They are located on a 4,000 acre
site of rolling wheat fields.
“We have had a good experience with other wind-power projects in recent years,” said Rich Walje, President of Rocky Mountain Power.
“This project enables us to continue to increase our renewable energy portfolio consistent with our resource plans.
Wolverine Creek will also add about $900,000 per year in property tax revenue to Idaho’s Bonneville and Bingham counties.
