Idaho Energy Efficiency

We partner with commercial, industrial and irrigation customers in Idaho to help them save energy and money through these programs:

Program and funding update: Rocky Mountain Power received approval from the Idaho Public Utilities Commission for

  • removal of funding caps for demand-side management programs,
  • a new program, Energy FinAnswer, and
  • improvements for FinAnswer Express and other existing programs for business and residential customers
  • an increase in the Customer Efficiency Services Charge to fund the new and enhanced programs.

The changes are effective May 1, 2008.

Energy FinAnswer
We offer technical expertise and cash incentives to help you upgrade the energy efficiency of your commercial or industrial heating, cooling, refrigeration, compressed air, lighting, pumping or industrial processes. Both retrofit and new construction/major renovation projects are eligible.

FinAnswer Express
Commercial and industrial customers may receive pre-calculated incentives for high-efficiency lighting, premium efficiency motors and HVAC equipment. Custom incentives may be available for other types of equipment. This program is for retrofits and new construction.

Irrigation Load Control
With this program, irrigators agree to curtail their electricity use during certain periods of time and receive a credit for participating. Customers specify which sites they wish to include in the program and choose the best load control option to meet their needs.

Irrigation Energy Savers
Irrigation customers may receive new nozzles, gasket and drains in place of worn equipment, cash incentives for pivot system equipment upgrades, on site pump check and water management consultation, pump tests, engineering and incentives for comprehensive irrigation system upgrades. Energy Exchange
Energy Exchange is a voluntary load curtailment program designed for customers with one or more megawatts of connected load. It helps address energy market circumstances when a reduction in regional energy use is needed.

Seminars and training
We provide our customers with low-cost seminars on topics to help businesses improve the efficiency of their operations. We also partner with other groups to provide efficiency information and training.

Some of these services are funded through a 3.72 percent fee on your bill called Customer Efficiency Services.
