PacifiCorp Foundation grant helps to provide safety training

WORLAND, Wyo. — The PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning, the charitable arm of Pacific Power, has awarded a $4,000 grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Wyoming, to help support the Empower program, which was developed to teach safety awareness and sexual abuse prevention.

Pacific Power Regional Community Manager Leslie Blythe presented the contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Wyoming Executive Director Margaret Staab, on Wednesday, April 13.

“We are pleased to assist with this important safety training program,” said Blythe. “Pacific Power has a long tradition of supporting safety and related initiatives, and this program goes hand-in-hand with that commitment.”

PacifiCorp Foundation funding will help enable Big Brothers Big Sisters to purchase new training supplies and provide additional training sessions for staff who will be teaching the program. The focus of the program is to empower individuals to make wise choices to help them stay safe and avoid becoming victims of abuse.

The PacifiCorp Foundation awarded a total of more than $20,000 to nonprofit organizations throughout Wyoming, to help support safety, health and wellness, and educational programs for youth. The contributions are part of one of four grant cycles awarded by the Foundation annually.
