WORLAND, Wyo. — The PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning, the charitable arm of Pacific Power, has awarded a $5,000 grant to
the Boys & Girls Club of Washakie County, to assist with programs that encourage youth to succeed in school.
Pacific Power Regional Community Manager Leslie Blythe presented the contribution to Wendi Dickerson, chief professional officer
of the Boys & Girls Club of Washakie County, on Wednesday, April 13.
“The early years of a child’s education can have a profound effect on their future,” said Blythe. “By helping students to
succeed early on, programs like this can create an excitement for learning that will stay with children throughout their education
and into adulthood.”
PacifiCorp Foundation funding will help support the Educational Enhancement Program and the PowerHour: Making Minutes Count
component of Project Learn. These programs are designed to engage young people in learning, encourage them to succeed in school,
and help them become lifelong learners.
The PacifiCorp Foundation awarded a total of more than $20,000 to nonprofit organizations throughout Wyoming, to help support
safety, health and wellness, and educational programs for youth. The contributions are part of one of four grant cycles awarded
by the Foundation annually.
