Pacific Power is bringing a green glimmer to the holidays by providing
Blue Sky renewable energyfor holiday lights displays throughout Oregon.
“It’s one way we can make our holiday a little greener,” said Bill Edmonds, Pacific Power’s director of environmental policy.
In all, the company's Blue Sky purchases – wind power from Stateline Energy Center on the Oregon/Washington border – have
environmental benefits equal to not driving a car 795,000 miles. Pacific Power is sponsoring lighting displays in Albany, Bend,
Coos Bay, Corvallis, Crooked River Ranch, Grants Pass, Hood River, Klamath Falls, Lebanon, Madras, Medford, Portland, Prineville,
Redmond, Rogue River, Roseburg and Seaside.
“No matter which option customers choose, buying Blue Sky renewable energy makes a substantial contribution to the environment,”
Edmonds said. “For example, enrolling in Blue Sky Usage or Habitat for a year has the same clean-air benefit as planting five
acres of trees.”
