Blue Sky Partner Program

The Blue Sky Business Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages organizations to support renewable as a way to reduce the environmental impacts associated with their electricity use and achieve their environmental goals through a green power purchase that represents a specific percentage of energy use.

When joining the Blue Sky business partnership you have the flexibility to choose whether your entire organization or a facility within your organization becomes a Partner. This flexibility allows an organization to fine tune its green power purchase. To become a Blue Sky business partner an organization must meet or exceed a minimum percentage of green power (see Table 1) that corresponds to the organization’s energy usage.

Depending on your average monthly electricity usage and renewable power purchase commitment, we can recognize your business through press announcements and identify your business in our renewable power promotional materials, which may include paid advertising. See chart below for recognition information or click here for a fact sheet (pdf).

Rocky Mountain Power actively promotes and recognizes Blue Sky business partners as environmental leaders. Your organization can benefit from this recognition. The Rocky Mountain Power team can help businesses large, medium and small, local government and communities determine renewable energy purchase levels that best meet an organizations sustainability goals, minimize their carbon footprint and bring positive attention to their efforts to go green. The partnership currently has hundreds of partners who are voluntarily purchasing green power. Click here for a list of businesses that are enrolled in Blue Sky.

To help you get started – first evaluate your electricity use for your facility, or an aggregation of facilities and determine the percentage purchase requirement, considering the minimum threshold to achieve a specific partnership level. Contact Rocky Mountain Power if you have questions. You can download the business partnership enrollment form at the bottom of this page. See our calculators to determine the  environmental impact of your purchase or compare your costs between Blue Sky and the QS calculator
